Collection of Evidence

The N.V.Q. system requires the candidate to collect evidence of skills covered and knowledge gained.

It is normal practice for someone in the workplace to assume responsibility for checking and progressing the programme. They will also be responsible for signing all evidence on behalf of the company. In order to do this they can either be trained to become an official Assessor or a designated Competent Person.

Evidence can take the form of Observations, Witness Testimony, Questionnaires, Authentic Records (Job tickets, Route Cards, Maintenance Sheets, etc.)

The candidate is responsible for compiling and maintaining their evidence portfolio.

A realistic target date will be set for the completion of the overall programme, three years being the normally accepted period.
