SETA APPLICATION

Apply here for a Seta training programme

Applying to Seta - what you need to know

The application is a straightforward process and has four main sections. Please read the notes below so that you are properly prepared to enter the important information requested:

In the first section we will collect key information such as your name, address, date of birth, telephone number(s), email address, National Insurance Number (if known), etc.

The second section requests information about your education and your qualifications, with grades achieved or predicted. You should include any college courses you have undertaken, along with your grades. It will also ask you about any other achievements you have obtained such as Duke of Edinburgh award or through sports related activities.

The third section is related to work experience, skills and interests. In this section you will be asked about what you have learned and the skills you have developed (don’t worry if you haven’t got much experience). You’ll also be asked to make two written statements, the first describing why you’d like to enrol onto the programme, and the second, a personal statement about yourself, telling us something about who you are, what makes you tick, what you think are your key qualities, what interests and goals you have. These statements will be of particular interest to prospective employers and could help to differentiate you from other applicants, so you may wish to prepare this in advance. Please note: If you are applying for an apprenticeship with a specific employer, you should indicate this clearly in the box near the bottom of this section. This will allow Seta to filter the application and direct it the appropriate organisation.

The final section is mainly to collect information regarding eligibility, equality and diversity.

Once you’ve submitted the online application form, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it.

We will be assessing applications on a rolling basis and for engineering apprenticeships we will be inviting all eligible candidates to attend Seta for a short engineering related aptitude test. Applicants will be added to our list to be sent out to prospective employers.

We work with many large and small employers from around the region providing some fine opportunities for young ones to get a foot onto an exciting career.
