Overview
An excellent introduction to practical mechanical maintenance, this course provides instruction in techniques relevant to safe, first line maintenance. Instruction takes place both in the classroom and in SETA¡¦s fully equipped workshop.

Ideally suited to those with little, or no mechanical maintenance experience.

- Tools and equipment: - safe use of standard hand tools and equipment
- Dismantling techniques:- correct isolation from power sources; dismantling sequence; marking and protection of parts
- Re-assembling techniques: - re-assembly sequence and commissioning
- Bearings:- identification of bearing types, codes and cross references; common bearing faults; removal and fitting of bearings
- Belt and Chain Drives:- identification of flat, vee and tooth belts; removal and replacement of belts and chains; checking pulley alignment ; belt/chain tensions
- Drives and Couplings:- types; removal and assembly of couplings;ensuring drive shaft alignment
