Basic Introduction to Health & Safety

Overview

As an excellent introduction to health and safety this course is designed for staff who will be responsible for H&S issues within the factory and office environment. This course focuses on raising awareness of H&S issues, together with a basic understanding of legal requirements.

Participants

This course is designed for those who require an understanding and appreciation of health and safety legislation, a good introduction to suit novice H&S representatives. Ideal for those who are joining a health and safety committee to take forward H&S issues as they arise.

  • Preparing a health and safety policy
  • Consultation requirements between employer and employee
  • Risk assessment and record keeping
  • Responsibilities outlined by RIDDOR and COSHH

  • First aid in the workplace (legal requirements only)
  • Reducing the cost of accidents
  • H&S in the office, including working with VDU’s
