Job Title:      Engineering Lecturer and Workplace Assessor

Role:

This is a combined role - Engineering Lecturer / Workplace Assessor / Project Delivery. The incumbent in this role will be expected to:

  • Deliver a number of technical certificate units: Advanced Manufacturing (Mechanical bias); Organisation efficiency (BIT); Engineering project
  • Manage a portfolio of engineering apprentices (mainly multi-skilled maintenance)
    • Carry out reviews, observations and assessment
    • Assist learners with EPA preparation
  • At times of light teaching loads, carry out a variety of project based activity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching, using a range of teaching and learning methods to create interesting and engaging learning sessions.
  • Mark and assess students’ work, providing feedback that supports learners to progress.
  • Liaise with other members of staff to ensure successful delivery of overall programme
  • Comply with internal and external quality management systems
  • Provide students with academic and pastoral support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Take responsibility for the progress and achievement of all students on your course.
  • Deliver IAG to support students’ decision making and high rates of progression
  • Carry out apprentice observation reviews and assessments
  • Liaise from time-to-time with sub-contract delivery organisations
  • Prepare apprentices for endpoint assessment
  • Deliver internal projects

Location: Washington, Tyne & Wear

Salary:  £34k-£36k per annum

Pension: Auto-enrolment into Seta’s pension scheme

Holidays: 25 days per year plus 8 statutory days. Additional days for long service.
