Seta is a vibrant and long-standing Washington based specialist independent training provider, located just off the A1 in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Offering both apprenticeships and accredited commercial training, we predominantly serve the North East’s engineering, manufacturing, process and related sectors. We help individuals gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence, required to fulfil their potential. Due to a rapid increase in learner numbers we are recruiting to a number of positions.

Head of Commercial Training       Salary to £45k

We are looking to significantly grow revenue from the delivery of accredited and non-accredited skills training courses. To help achieve this we are now recruiting a Head of Commercial Training. The incumbent will report direct to the CEO and will be a key member of the senior management team, with responsibility for strategy development; growth of the sales pipeline through a variety of channels; and, the development, oversight and management of commercial training delivery. The ideal candidate will have recent management and supervision experience, a good track record of B2B marketing and sales, and a record of achieving challenging performance and financial targets. Ideally they should also have experience of working with employers in the development of skills training programmes. 

Business Development Manager (Fixed term contract until December 2023) Salary to £30k

As a key partner in the ESF part funded North East Workforce Skills programme, we are looking to appoint a business development manager. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Training the role involves taking the lead in programme delivery; engaging with employers to identify training needs; and, enabling and ensuring successful training delivery of a wide range of workforce skills courses.  The ideal candidate will have recent business development experience, a keen interest in workforce skills, and experience of working on EU funded projects.

Training Instructor (Metal Fabrication)      Salary to £35k

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Metal Fabrication training instructor, to deliver training to first year engineering apprentices. The successful applicant is likely to be a time-served welder/fabricator, with several years of industry experience. Ideally they will also have recent experience in delivering engineering apprenticeship training and assessment, and hold a teaching qualification at level 4 or higher. 

Training Instructor (Engineering Maintenance)     Salary to £35k

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Engineering Maintenance training instructor, to deliver training to first year engineering apprentices. The successful applicant is likely to be a timeserved maintenance engineer, with several years of industry experience. We would like to recruit someone with electrical, mechanical, and fluid power experience, but we are also happy to receive applications from individuals covering single disciplines. Ideally they will also have recent experience in delivering engineering apprenticeship training and assessment, and hold a teaching qualification at level 4 or higher. 

Engineering Lecturer (Part-Time / Full Time)   Salary to £35k (pro rata for P/T)

We are looking for an experienced lecturer to deliver technical certificate units in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME level 3), and possibly units of HNC, to engineering apprentices. This role would ideally suit individuals looking for a part-time commitment, however we would consider a full time position for the right candidate. In addition to teaching delivery, they will be expected to mark and assess students’ work and take responsibility for the progress and achievement of learners on programme. Ideally they should hold a teaching qualification at level 4 or higher, and have experience of delivery on apprenticeship programmes.
