Warehousing and Storage Intermediate Apprenticeship
Breakdown of the twelve to eighteen months apprenticeship programme:
Twelve to eighteen months on and off the job training in the workplace, completing units of an EAL Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage (QCF), Functional Skills, Personal Learning & Thinking skills (PLTS), and an introduction to Employment Responsibilities and Rights (ERR).
Training with Seta will cover:
- Pathway 1 – Warehouse Operative
- EAL Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage (QCF)
Mandatory Units:
- Health, safety and security at work
- Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics
Group A,B,C,D and E Optional Units to be selected to meet the needs of the employer’s business.
Units include:
- Place goods in storage in logistics operations
- Process orders for customers in logistics operations
- Maintain the cleanliness of equipment in logistics operations
- Use equipment to move goods in logistics operations
- Keep stock at required levels in logistics operations
- Supervise the receipt, storage or dispatch of goods
The EAL Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage is a combined qualification covering competence and knowledge, so no separate Technical Certificate is required.
Employment Rights and Responsibilities:
Topics include:
- Statutory Rights and Responsibilities (Contracts and conditions of employment)
- Procedures and Documentation (Health and safety, sickness etc.)
- Representative Bodies (Trade unions, Training support bodies)
Off the job training with Seta will cover:
(If required), Functional Skills at Level 1:
- English
- Mathematics
Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS) require learners to be:
- Independent enquirers
- Creative thinkers
- Reflective learners
- Team workers
- Self-managers
- Effective participators
Seta staff will visit the apprentice on a regular basis to provide training, conduct assessments and provide support and guidance throughout the whole apprenticeship programme.
