Apprenticeships

Building careers, helping businesses - we offer a wide range of apprenticeships

Apprenticeships

Our engineering apprenticeships are a launchpad for a career in engineering, manufacturing and related industries. Apprentices initially learn their skills at Seta’s own workshop facilities in Washington, North East England, where they gain hands on, practical experience for use in the workplace, and train on state-of-the-art machinery.

Training is delivered by our expert staff, who boast a vast amount of industry experience, and we create a learning culture that prepares apprentices for real life working environments.

Working closely with employers, we ensure our apprentices are able to make a valuable, positive contribution to their businesses.

Seta is officially rated as a ‘good’ training provider by Ofsted and our engineering training centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear is easily accessible from major road links, including the A1 and A19.

We will work with employers to create a flexible, bespoke apprenticeship programme which is best for their business.

The apprenticeship process

This step by step guide explains the process of recruiting apprentices with Seta:

1) Initially we will arrange a meeting where we can discuss the specific apprentice needs for your business

2) Next, you can either choose to begin the recruitment process in-house or alternatively Seta can undertake this process for you. We will send you a list of potential candidates for you to shortlist and invite for interview.

3) Once the right candidate/s for your business have been found, Seta will enter into an agreement with you to deliver the apprenticeship.

4) Seta will register the selected candidate/s for apprenticeship.

5) The first period of the apprenticeship will be completed at Seta’s facility in Washington North East England, where apprentices begin their initial training and routine in a work environment e.g. time management, work load management and safety awareness.

6) After the initial period the apprentice will then begin their work based training at your business. Seta’s external assessors will regularly visit on site to assess progress.
